Advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of printing screen
Screen printing belongs to orifice plate printing, which is one of the four major printing methods together with flat printing, convex printing and gravure printing. In addition to screen printing, perforated plate printing also includes printing plate, stencil and spray printing. One of the screen printing is to transfer the ink to the substrate through screen printing and squeegee. The scraping angle, scraping speed, scraping pressure and screen distance of the squeegee have a certain influence on the color of silk screen printing.
Compared with other printing, screen printing has many advantages
1) The ink performance requirements are not high, it is easy to make a variety of process effects.
2) Ink layer thickness is relatively large, three-dimensional, hand and visual effects are particularly strong.
3) Screen printing equipment is also relatively simple, mainly composed of paper feeding part, printing part and drying paper receiving part.
At present, the most commonly used types of screen printing are nylon screen and polyester screen.
Nylon screen is a kind of nylon monofilament fabric with plain weave up to 380 mesh and twill weave over 330 mesh. Characteristics of nylon net in use:
1) Nylon mesh has a smooth appearance and good ink permeability. It can use high viscosity and large particle ink to create precise printing pictures.
2) It can be used for fine line drawing and dot printing.
3) Nylon mesh is flexible and has good adaptability to substrate. It can be used for concave convex and curved surface printing.
4) Nylon net has long service life, good acid resistance, chemical and organic solvent resistance, and can be reused.
Features of polyester screen in use:
1) It can be used to print high precision printed products such as integrated circuit, scale board, counter board, etc.
2) Strong acid and organic solvent resistance, renewable use.
3) It is not affected by humidity, and its heat resistance is higher than that of nylon net. It is less affected by ultraviolet than that of nylon net.
